Flapjacks are pleasurable morsels of goodness that are so easy to make that even the less experienced baker will have no trouble whipping some up. If your in the mood to bake something that doesn't take long to make and that you only need a few ingredients for then my golden syrup flapjacks are the perfect option.
Golden Syrup Flapjacks
(Makes 9 large squares)
250g Porridge Oats
125g Butter
125g Light Brown Sugar
3 TBSP Golden Syrup
Preheat the oven to 160℃, Gas Mark 3.
Line and grease a 20cm square baking tin.
Place all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse until fully incorporated. You want to make sure that the butter and sugar has coated the oats. This should take around two minutes.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking tin and spread evenly. Using the back of a spoon, pat down the mixture making sure that it reaches the corners of the tin.
Place in the oven and bake until golden brown, this should take around 20 - 25 minutes.
Leave in the tin to cool before cutting into squares.
