April Degustabox Review

Even though this is only my second box, I was so excited when I received a text message to say it was being delivered the next day. A box that is full of surprises and foodie ones at that is something that makes me extremely happy! It's like my birthday every month. This months box was full of some great little numbers, a cheeky Pimms cider cup and two helpings of chocolate.

1. Canderel Sugar £3.00
Sweetner doesn't exist in my house, so when I saw this big pot of canderel I wasn't sure if I would use it. I haven't yet, but they've set a challenge on the packet to swap normal sugar for this and to see if you can taste the difference. So, challenge excepted! It has zero calories and can be used in baking and cooking.

2. Pimms Cider Cup £2.29
Hello alcohol! I love fruit ciders, especially in the summer and this Pimms Cider Cup will be making an appearance in the fridge this year. If you love Pimms anyhow then this is a no brainier for you, it's sweet but not to sweet with cucumber notes and the taste of Pimms runs through. Best served cold with some ice!

3. Levi Roots Jerk Sauce £1.00
This went straight to Jake to try because I am a wimp when it comes to jerk or anything spicy for that matter. It had three chillies on it! THREE! All you have to do is pour it over the meat or fish of your choice and cook it straight away. It comes in three different flavours, one of which is milder so maybe that might be up my street more.

4. Sea Salt, Garlic & Rosemary Popchips £1.99
I love Popchips and I had no idea that they had this as a flavour. I haven't tried these yet but I know I will love them. Popchips are a lighter snaking alternative to crisps with less than half the fat, healthy snaking, yes please!

5. Rejuvenation Water £1.99
This water comes in three different flavours, Spanish orange, ginger and lime and apple and mint. I got Spanish orange in my box, and it tasted fresh. As well as it tasting great, it is specifically designed to deal with modern life. The unique amino acid profile has been shown to fuel the immune system and build a natural resilience to stress, depression and anxiety.

6. Veetee Microwavable Rice £1.49/£1.29
This months box came with two rice's from Vestee, a basmati rice and brown rice with quinoa. I think microwavable rice is genius for quick meals if you don't have time to wait or if like me you can't cook rice in a pan without it sticking to the bottom.

7. MilkyBar Milk and Crunch £1.00
Seeing MilkyBar in the box was always going to be a good thing. I love white chocolate and these biscuit bars did not disappoint. You get four cow shaped bars, with a crispy biscuit centre covered by white chocolate. Whats not to love?

8. Smarties Sharing Block £1.29
Another chocolate product and for me a little disappointing... I like Smarties so thought I would love this but the chocolate was to dark for me. It says it is milk chocolate but for me it tasted more dark than normal milk chocolate I eat. However, the Smarties are great inside the bar and it it is a good size bar for sharing.

9. Bebeto £1.99
This is hands down my favourite product from this months box. These fruit strings are made from fruit juice and has no processed sugar inside them making them suitable for vegetarians and vegans. You get seven packets, one for each day of the week with a number of flavours: Strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and apple. They taste just like flavoured lace sweets and also have the texture of them too, which I loved! Would really recommend these as an alternative to sweets for children.

10. Parle G/ Parle Rusk £0.25/£0.89
Parle G is filled with the goodness of milk and wheat and is a source of all round nourishment. I haven't tried these yet but I imagine they are like rich tea biscuits or along those lines.

Parle Rusk are crispy and crunchy toasts enriched with cardamom. The packet says that they are perfect with a cup of tea... I'm yet to try these as Im not the biggest cardamom lover and the thought of having it with tea doesn't sound like my cup of tea.

11. Green Lady Tea £1.99
This is a sparkling tea that uses green Darjeeling tea leaves and is infused with carob fruit, nutmeg and rose oil. I would say that this is best drank chilled, as it is sparkling its far more refreshing. For me it had ginger notes running through it, for someone who doesn't like green tea I did enjoy this!

This months box was worth £20.46!
